Hannah Marlton

Hannah is a Special Counsel in the Sydney Property team. Admitted in 2014, Hannah has 5 years’ post admission experience in Property Law.

Hannah’s experience includes disposals and acquisitions of real property (at both the property and property trust levels) and leasing across a range of sectors including commercial, industrial and retail. She has worked with a range of clients including listed REITs, investment managers, both domestic and foreign investors, property managers and developers.

Hannah has received recent industry recognition for her work and was named Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards ‘Young Gun of the Year’, Women Lawyers’ Association of NSW ‘Rising Star of the Year’ and was the winner of Lawyers Weekly’s ’30 Under 30’ in the Real Estate category. She was also shortlisted as a finalist for Australasian Law Awards’ ‘Young Private Practice Lawyer of the Year (30 or Under)’.

Experience

Key transactions and projects Hannah has been involved in include:

  • Blackstone’s $86million disposal of 100% of the units in the Adelaide Terrace Trust, the sole asset of which is the property known as ENI House, 226 Adelaide Terrace, Perth, via unit sale agreement;
  • LOGOS’ $119 million acquisition of 100% of the units in the ARE Truganina Trust, the sole asset of which was Kmart’s Distribution Centre at 2-12 Banfield Court, Truganina, Victoria, via unit sale agreement;
  • 151 Property’s multi-asset sale of ‘No. 1 Brisbane’ to Charter Hall for $94 million;
  • Aqualand Property’s disposal of 54 Miller Street, North Sydney, to US-based real estate investment management company AEW for $59.4million;
  • Kumpulan Wang Persaraan’s (KWAP) sale of 20 Bridge Street, Sydney (home to the ASX) which sold for over $330 million at a record yield;
  • 151 Property’s sale of industrial asset ‘1979 Ipswich Road’, in Rocklea, Queensland for $15.4 million;
  • Blackstone’s sale of 1 Castlereagh Street via unit sale agreement, which transacted for a sale price of $218million;
  • 151 Property’s sale of 241A O’Riordan Street, Mascot – a complicated stratum lot limited in both height and depth adjoining the Stamford Airport Hotel – to Fort Street Real Estate Capital for $128million; and
  • Coca-Cola Amatil’s $165million sale and leaseback of its manufacturing and distribution centre at 20 Orchard Street.

Hannah also acts for a number of large institutional landlords, including Far East Organization, Charter Hall and Goodman on their leasing portfolios across New South Wales.
