Darrin has over 30 years’ experience in insurance claims work, for both defendants and injured plaintiffs. His practice includes the defence of public and product liability claims, as well as general insurance litigation. He has practised in New South Wales, the ACT, Victoria and Queensland, including periods spent working in-house for a general insurer and for WorkCover Queensland, where he worked in its common law claims division.

- Defence of litigated and unlitigated claims made under the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 and the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003
- Defence of dust disease (silicosis) litigation nationwide, including the defence of litigation initiated in the Dust Diseases Tribunal of New South Wales, as well as the Supreme Courts of Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia
- Defence of catastrophic injury claims, dependency, nervous shock and high value claims
- Defence of property liability claims
- Trial work & alternative dispute resolution, including regular appearances at compulsory conferences and mediations
