Robert Csillag is a Special Counsel with 12 years’ experience in litigation specialising in professional indemnity, complex coverage disputes, construction/engineering and financial lines.
He maintains a broad insurance practice defending professionals across a wide range of industries. He has practised in national and international law firms and acted for Australian, UK and US-based insurers and their insureds in high value litigated and unlitigated matters.

- Acted for an insured real estate agent defending a claim for over $10m in the Supreme Court of New South Wales which concerned allegations of misleading or deceptive conduct and negligence.
- Advised various Lloyds Underwriters on coverage in respect of multiple claims concerning a multi-national insured engineering firm.
- Acted for a structural engineer in respect of a claim valued at over $5m concerning alleged breaches of the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020.
- Successfully defended proceedings in the Supreme Court of New South Wales seeking to join an insurer to the proceedings in place of an insured certifier in liquidation.
